It’s great for you if that’s you guys’ relationship, but this would be my own personal nightmare…..
My Mom would have, but she passed away. She did get me really cool nighties and things when I went off to college. (she hadn’t gone to college so she thought all the girls wore cute nighties like in Animal House lol) My Dad’s mother bought my mom some really sweet but risque lingerie. Apparently, my gramma did that for all her daughter in laws…… wow… i suppose she did it for all her sons lol.
if you guys are close I mean my mom bought all my bra’s and panties … soooo… i don’t think it’s that big of a deal.
Eww, no! Besides the fact that I wanted to buy it myself and didn’t want *anyone* else seeing it, my mother picking it would have just been doubly bad. EDIT: I just remembered, she did make me some lingerie after we married. But picking it for a particular night, no thank you.
I can’t see my mom doing this. We’re very close, but I’m not sure that’s an aspect of our relationship that we share. I could, however, see my mom handing me a gift card to a lingerie store and being like, “OMG do not show me what you buy” or telling me to get something classy. We were out at a department store and I bought a satin slip to sleep in and she got one too.. but it was less sexy/lingerie-esque and more soft and pretty, if that makes sense. She did make a joke about my partner liking it though!
As for the OP’s question, no way. I’m really close with my mom that but crosses a line for me. Related to the subject though, my mom has this really crazy coworker who threw her FDIL a very “sexy” bachelorette complete with penis-shaped cheesecakes and gifts such as a French maid outfit. My mom thought this was SUPER weird and this coworker was telling everybody about it and sharing pictures.
I chose ‘No way!’ but I’m struggling to explain any justification.. just my instinct.
your Mom’s co-worker is creepy.
I think if it’s like .. here’s a box/pink bag with stripes on it … I saw it … thought of you .. there you go. Period the end… . It’s not a big deal. But buying the white flowy thing and making you open it at your shower … creep E.
I mean seriously she’s the one that taught you about sex, bought your first tampons, knows your having sex, so .. meh .. it’s not so terrible. (i think the buying your first tampons and explaining how to use them is a much more tramatic thing then anything)
that is one of the most boundary crossing things i’ve read on the bee! yikes!
I don’t thin she will be, but I wouldn’t mind if she did.
We’re pretty much on the same page when it comes to skimpy bedroom-only apparel.
Hmm I guess I’m in the minority here, but I don’t think it’s weird. My mom is super reserved so she wouldn’t do this but I wouldn’t be horrified if she did! At my bridal shower some of my aunts got me some sexy but classy lingerie, my side of the family oohed and ahhed my husbands southern family looked a little freaked out but whatever! Haha
it only just occurred to me that I never bought any wedding night/honeymoon lingerie. oops! my mum did end up buying the strapless bra and silk shorts that I wore under my dress, just cause we were shopping together at the time. so I guess she did? In case you’re wondering about the silk shorts, I had a short dress and my husband likes to lift me up randomly (and I like to dance!) so I figured wedding shorts for a necessity in my case!
should’ve worn my garter a bit higher, though…
