My ring is insured as a separate “personal item” rider under my renter’s insurance.  The cost is very minimal and covers theft, loss, and damage.  I had it insured because if anything were to happen to my ring, it cost too much for us to comfortably replace without saving up for a looooong time.

Perfect Circle/Jeweler’s Mutual is standalone jewelry insurance. That’s where I insure my jewelry.

My ring is currently insured for 2 years, after that I’ll need to pick up a private insurance, which I will.

I have a separate policy for my diamond engagement/wedding rings and other monetarily valuable jewelry like alexandrites, pearls, cameo etc.  My home owners policy would cover less monetarily valuable jewelry like my gold rings with non precious stones, gold neclaces and all my silver jewelry etc

Yes, Jeweler’s Mutual. My Fiance had to have it insured for the proposal he planned.

Ugh I know that I should and the cost is minimal. I really don’t have an excuse why I haven’t done it yet other than I just constantly forget about it. Thanks for the reminder though!

My ring was ensured before my Darling Husband picked it up. That is a huge chunk of change if anything were to happen to it.

We are insured through our renter’s insurance but Jeweler’s Mutual is an alternative if you don’t want to lump it together.

My ring is on a separate policy from State Farm. They do my renter’s and auto insurance, too, but the ring is it’s policy, not tacked onto the renter’s.

@kb7:  I haven’t gotten mine insured yet, but I will be sometime in the near future. I’ll be getting a separate rider on my homeowner’s insurance for it.

This reminds me that we need to get renter’s insurance.  We’ve only been meaning to do it for a year now.

Mine is insured with our homeowner’s insurance.  It isn’t expensive but well worth it if something happens.  My ring appraised for 25% more than Fiance paid for it, so if something does happen to it, we aren’t out less than what he paid.
