My ring’s not insured, but it should be.  That and renter’s insurance have been on our to-do list for over a year now.  lol.

Yup. Perfect Circle (Jewler’s Mutual). I insured it like the hour I got it lol. I’d be so scared wearing it without insurance. We’re not made of money and had to save for it, so unless you can outright replace it without worrying, I’d always opt for insurance. It would take something like 85 years for me to pay enough insurance premiums without making a claim to reach the value of my ring, so I’d say it’s a wise investment.

YES! It’s the most expensive item in the whole house.

@abirdword:  You really should get renter’s insurance asap!! Not to nag you, but you do realize how expensive it would be if you had a fire or something and had to replace EVERYTHING, right? You basically just have to make a phone call to get set up.

I read a post on here a couple months ago where a bee’s apartment had a fire before they even finished moving into the place yet… and they didn’t get around to getting renter’s insurance. She was really upset, to say the least.

I have article insurance through state farm on my ering.   My home insurance limits how much jewlery can be claimed and the value of a single item making it “not good enough” to replace or repair my ring is something happened. Separate article insurance also gives me no deductable if I do make a claim and doesn’t impact my claim free discount on the house which would also be costly above the deductable.

I have a warranty through the jeweler (3 years, I think) that will cover all maintainence & lost stones, but then it is insured through USAA in case anything were to happen to the entire ring.

My ring is insured! Heavily! We use State Farm and they are wonderful…my FH has a beautiful diamond ring as well and it is also insured. It’s not a lot of money for the peace of mind.

My ring is insured on a rider of our homeowner’s insurance. It’s less than $30 a year. We included my wedding band, and all of my other jewelry as part of our homeowner’s. I was afraid to wear my engagement ring before it was insured! I’ve only owned it for a year and an half, but after less than a year of wear, the stone was loose. The diamond is worth considerably more than teh setting, and we could not have easily afforded to replace it.

Yes mine is insured with state farm. I haven’t had any issues or ever had to file any claims. My insurance is around 320 a year I think it is for full coverage. What you pay per year is based on the appraised value of the ring.
