We had considered eloping but changed our minds because after researching it looked to be kind of troublesome! At least more trouble than what I wanted to deal with. We didn’t particularly want a courthouse wedding so we looked at possibly eloping in NYC or some place romantic like Vermont in the fall. It was kind of exhausting for me to attempt planning all the logistics so we gave up and are having a wedding, hah! There are moments I wish we had eloped though.

It sucks that your photographer has gone up Undecided. I had found my photographer like 2 years ago (long engagement) and I was so worried her rates would have gone up too, but luckily she is honoring her initial quote. Maybe you can ask if there is anyway they can honor what you originally were quoted?? As for the venue I feel like you should maybe just look for another place to get married. That would be a lot of money wasted for just 15 minutes of a 4-hr block. In the end all that matters is you’re marrying your love, but it is totally understandable that you want it to be beautiful!

@luvmesumhim– oh yeah, the scheduling. I don’t know why I overlooked that in regard to the photographer. I do hope it works out for you!

We eloped to a Destination Wedding… just he 2 of us and our Officiant on the Beach saying our Vows (and the Photographer)

It was fantastic !!

Ya there were times I was concerned… especially doing my arrangements from so far away / sight unseen

But in the end it all worked out fantastically… and wasn’t very expensive

I suggest that you use GOOGLE to find out what is offered in the city / Destination you are looking at

Example… Getting Married in Myrtle Beach =OR= Officiants in Myrtle Beach

That sort of thing.

You’ll probably find someone who has a Website, and offers Packaged Services.  Then it is just a matter of GOOGLING them for Reviews etc (or asking here on WBee)

Many Officiants / Services have connections (or packages) for all aspects… Locations, Photographers, Music, Flowers, Cake, A Wedding Meal… even Accommodations if you need em

We saved a ton of money that way…

For under $ 300 we got a nice Personalized Ceremoy – Location on the Beach – Bouquet & Bouts – Wedding Paperwork processed (signed and sent in for the Wedding Certificate) – Photographer for about a half hour – and 40+ Photos on a CD that we have full copyright to

Hope this helps,

PS… You haven’t told us WHERE exactly you are looking to get married (and it isn’t in your Profile) supplying that info might be helpful for Bees who’d want to give you some specific info / suggestions.
