Go on two shopping trips (or three or four).  I did three so I could go with all the ladies, mom sisters and friends/bms because of conflicting schedules.   I didn’t decide on the dress until after the third trip and went to order it myself!

It’s definitely hard to get everyone together at once, and while I’m sure it’s hard that your mom planned a trip to Vegas on the day you planned–you’re right, it’s not going to ruin anything.

Take a good long break from wedding stuff, have a good workout and come back later.  Wedding stuff is always stressful at times.  you will get through it!!

To me, wedding planning and buying your first home evokes the same kind of stress. It’s definitely stressful and there’s nothing easy about it, but in the end it’s worth it. Don’t fret! I’m sure you’ll handle it somehow ๐Ÿ™‚

You have every right to be stressed! BUT you are the only one that can continue to let it affect you– or not affect you. Your dress shopping will still be a lot of fun!

Working out ALWAYS helps me. Of course, that doesn’t make it any easier to get to the gym. ๐Ÿ™‚

BeachBride hit the nail on the head. You have to decide that the seemingly silly things other people do are NOT going to stress you out. I would enjoy hanging out with my maid of honor without having to listen to my mom’s opinions! (hmm…that says something about my mother!).

Definitely exercise, it has helped my stress levels by leaps and bounds. And your title did make me laugh a little…that helps with stress too!

Well, it’s hard to deal with all the expectations and coordinate the involvement of so many people. It’s not really possible for it to NOT be a stressful process. Anyway it’s a happy thing to have weddingbees buzz good feelings to you. You’re not alone. Sometimes that helps me keep things in perspective and move on from whatever frustrations I’m feeling.

Take a deep breath and just go with it!  You are right to not let the small things stress you.  My mom did something similar, her response was "I got a great deal and I can always try on dresses another day."  And you know what — she was right!  Keep in mind that though this feels like the most important thing in your life, it doesn’t feel that way to everyone else.  Everything will work out!

Lord my engagement was totally stressful! I was so happy when it was over! I tried to be as hands-off as possible and just not worry about little details. And some big details too. ๐Ÿ™‚ You will get through it!

@ Lattelove:  Ha I thought you meant casual shopping trips for fun to relieve your stress when I first starting reading what you meant!  I like that idea too.

and D.Marie, wedding planning is def. not stressfree, no matter what there is so much extra stress I never expected it to be this hard.  But yes we have to keep telling ourselves it’s all worth it and grit our teeth when our Moms or FMILs do things that don’t make sense and drive us crazy!

Good luck shopping and don’t let anything ruin it for you!
