- Wedding: June 2010
Our wedding is not in a hotel, but I am having a post wedding brunch at one of the hotels in the same city. I’ve planned to have a spa day (mani’s and pedi’s) for 17 people (my bridal party, the moms, grandmas and FI’s sister) with a spa brunch buffet the day before my wedding. I also plan to stay there three nights and my parents are hosting the post-wedding brunch there as mentioned.
When we first booked at this new, very nice hotel, I was told I would be upgraded. I’ve since requested their biggest suite, because I’ll have 13 women getting ready in my room the morning of my wedding, plus hair and make-up people. This suite was also recently listed on a travel discount site – for the weekend of my wedding, so clearly, they have a number that are available. My contact has refused to ensure that I will receive this suite (which I think is kind of ridiculous) so I don’t know what to do. I need to know in advance so that I can make alternate arrangements for all of the women to get ready somewhere where we will have enough space. I feel like they were happy to tell me what I wanted to hear when we were booking the brunch and when I was bringing in 17 mani/pedis and having a smaller brunch, but now they can’t do me the favor of providing me with enough room to get ready? (They always knew I planned for my bridal party to get ready with me in my room). Hotels in this category generally plan to function at 60% capacity, so I find it hard to believe that they can’t upgrade me to that room. Any tips? Or should I move my reservation and the spa day to a different venue that is more accommodating?(which is what I’m leaning towards). Thanks…
