whitums: was trying to do was make a helpful suggestion re: the title. Yes, any BFP no matter how long it took to get is worthy of a celebration. I don’t think it was whitums intention to “crap” on her announcement post, and I personally don’t think that’s what she did. But that’s just my interpretation. Continuing to feud it out on her announcement though doesn’t make it right either. Also the amount of “helpfuls” that whitum got clearly means she isn’t the only one who thinks that way. Regardless, both of you make good points so just let it be what it is and move on.

Congrats!

DH and I just celebrated our 1-year anniversary last weekend, and started TTC last month after I went off BC (had been on them for the last 13 years). We thought about stopping my BC in August, but I had such a funky period that month that I thought one more should be OK. I shoudl have just stopped then… but oh well.

Even after reading fertility books, charting, and knowing the signs to look for… it’s still a lot of information. My period arrived a week later than expected, so I did test 5 days after it was supposed to be here. BFN, and it arrived 2 days after that. So this month, I’m really watching every little thing and making sure we BD EOD the week I’m most fertile until after I know I have O’d.

We know this may not come easy, as we’re in our 30’s (I’m 34, and he’s 36)… so we’re crossig our fingers and hoping for the best. And, hoping that we can conceive sooner than later… but only time will tell on that and IF we can conceive at all.

Congrats!! Wow I would not be able to wait until Christmas to tell my family- But I hope you can make it since that’s what works best for you!

That’s so exciting that you ovulated so quickly after the IUD! I just came of Implanon at the beginning of this month and we’re trying right away too- But I know we aren’t yet because I had AF a week after the removal- even though I was just finishing a period when I got it out, ugh. But if my body is back to normal I should be ovulating pretty soon! yay!

Congrats!! The same thing happened to me (first time POAS) but it took me the whole first tri to come to terms with it…change is hard!

Now 31 weeks and can’t wait to meet this little one! Congrats and hope your pregnancy is as smooth as your TTC!

Congratulations! The same happened to us… We started to TTC a lot earlier because I was worried that it might be hard to get pregnant… little did we know!

As a side note, this thread isn’t offensive in any way. There is no number limit on how many couples conceive in a year so one person’s happiness and excitement is in no way to anyone else’s detriment. If someone is so sensitive about hearing pregnancy announcements, a TTC board is probably a wrong place for them.

whitepeony:  similar story here. We had a hard financial deadline, if I didn’t have a baby by x date I’d get zero paid leave bc of how my grad school funding works. I had been diagnosed with pcos and told by Drs I’d have a hard time. So we started ttc before our wedding and boom, 10 weeks along in a wedding dress! I barely believed it until I was feeling kicks. Pretty sure my husband didn’t believe it until the baby arrived…! I was more mentally prepared for conceiving quickly the 2nd time and it was way less of a mind f***! We moved up our ttc date to asap, when I ruptured my Achilles, expecting it to happen fast again and wanting as much overlap as possible between the 2 downtime situations bc I am an obsessed adult gymnast! In the ER the doc broke the news that I’d be out of the gym for a year and I said, it’s ok, I’ll just get pregnant! Cue awkward face on Dr lol. I’m due in March and hoping to get back into the gym in the summer after giving my Achilles a good long year + to heal. We are opportunists! And very fortunate that our bodies are cooperating with our plans.
