OK here it is!! I ordered both dress & petticoat. The package is bigger than what I anticipated. About 6-7 lbs I think. I paid about $200.
Size – comparing to a magazine.
Cut open the bubble wrap, this is what’s inside…
Cut open all the tape – the dress and the petticoat in plastic
Frontal shot #1, with 3″ heels on – is it too short? I don’t know what’s with that gap b/w the sequin/lace top layer & the underneath white material. Original gown has <1″ difference. Oh well, I guess I’ll just wear flats. I did add 3″ to my height on the order form but maybe this is just the way they make it.
Frontal shot #2, bare feet…
L & R sides… now all bare feet.
OK I know I tied it wrong – should start from the top. anyway. Back shot. The train is longer, but I couldn’t drag it out by myself without twisting it.
Details – bust, back etc…
Cup problem – the top edge tends to curve down – I can’t fill it up!! I’m 5’9″ & street size 2 so I’ll need some major pushup… Will see. But I do recall the original Sabelle size 6 I tried on had a more solid cup overall – so this didn’t happen with the original. But it also weighs about 3 times as much.
Jeff’s material looks richer than I had anticipated. I ordered ivory – it has a soft, cream sheen to it. It’s light & manageable but it doesn’t look cheap at all. Overall I’m very happy with the dress.
All that yoga I did came handy to twist my arms like a pretzel! LOL The hole on the tip of back sequin will be resolved had I tied it top down instead of bottom up…
I provided him the close up of the back of the original gown to make sure he sew the sequin onto the back too. I’m very happy with his work. But honestly, I prefer zipper – so much easier to put it on! Tying the lace is a PAIN!! although if you gain or lose a few between measurements & wedding date, the dress will fit no matter what.
The flowers. Oh God, these flowers delayed the whole process by 2 weeks.
The flowers he sewed on originally… scarily large & does not look like the original ones at all… So I had to ask him to re-sew them…
The original Sabelle gown’s flowers:
Lace – very pretty
Petticoat – they were supposed to give me this one:
But instead they sent me this one:
The waist band is secured by a velcro. I can’t really imagine how the other one would’ve done for me, so oh well. I’m OK with what I got.
