so the forecast has been all over the place for Ocober 1st. What else did I expect whan I planned a fall wedding in New England? On the extende forecast it was unseasonably cold with 0% chance of rain, Then on the 10 day forecast, 70’s with a 10% chance of rain, On the 5 day it was a few showers in the low 60’s and a 30% chance of rain. This morning, worse, SHOWERS and 40% chance of rain!!
i have to let my reception hall know by tonight if we plan on moving our ceremony inside (so they can bring their staff in early for the set up), but I am still in denial. I hate the idea of getting married inside, our ceremony is the most important part to us and we put a lot of effort into making it unique and it NEEDS to be outside. i hate the idea of getting married inside.
must keep telling myself, at the end of the day, it’s about marrying the man of my dreams.

I heard it was good luck if it rains on your wedding. Call me silly but that is something that I’ve been hearing since I was little.

It CAN rain… it MIGHT rain… but so what? Buy a bunch of cheap umbrellas at the dollar store for guests who forget theirs, and as your photog if he/she has the oversized white ones you and your groom could borrow for during the ceremony. It will look gorgeous, and so original. Remember this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TmUAyzab03g A weather disaster just might makeyour wedding the most memorable one anyone has ever been too! Embrace it!

We had an outdoor wedding planned in Massachusetts and it rained. We had to move everything inside. BUT, It was still by far the best day of my life! Enjoy whatever comes your way and know that rain symbolizes good luck!
That being said…I REALLY hope you have a sunny day!!!!

Put a broom in a tree!! It is supposed to keep the rain away. It is worth a try right?
Also it is supposed to be good luck 🙂

I had the same forcast issues this weekend last year…. there was a 6 week drought then the week of the wedding record rain (which i’m sure has been surpassed this year). I hope you get some of my good luck it was randomly gorgeous for my saturday wedding and crappy thursday-friday and sunday! you just never know, it just DOWN POURED my whole drive to work then when i was walking into the building the sun came out and it looks like it never happened.

If you have to tell them by tonight and the forcasters are saying there’s a 60% chance of no rain, I’ll leave things as they are. If it ends up raining that day, it very well might rain on and off, and the off part might be during the ceremony. It it is pouring, your guests/family can probably help the staff carry everything inside. If things end up being a little delayed, it won’t be the end of the world.
That is my plan anyway…. my wedding is next weekend and I reaaaally want it to be outside. I’m going to wait until the last second to make the call if it’s iffy out.
I am planning to bring a bunch of towels in case we need to dry chairs and a ton of pillar candles to make it cozy inside if we have to move things…
Best of luck!!!!!!!!!! Hope you have an amazing day either way!

A wet knot is harder to untie!
I watched the forecast go from 10% – 100% for our wedding. Pouring rain and 40MPH wind and it was still the most wonderful and beautiful day!
In fact I think our photos are that much more beautiful because of the misty air!

it’s calling for showers here too, in the morning. I hope that if it is going to rain, it does so in the morning and then clears for the afternoon. Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do about the weather. I envisioned this day to be in the high 60s/low 70s and kind of a crisp look to it as well as the leaves starting to change. That’s what there is today. It’s going to drop to the 50s tomorrow and rain and the coool weather is supposed to stick around. I bought a cardigan to put over my rehearsal dress and a wrap for the wedding day.
That sucks that you have to make a decision today, but go with your gut. that usually works best for me.

Well, I’m getting married inside, but I still wanted to be outside for pictures but I’ve decided that it’s Iowa and the weather will be horrible.
