@GingerSweepea: Congratulations on the engagement! Cool It depends on how soon you and your Fiance want to get married. I think a lot of people have 6-12 month long engagements. Also, depends on how far ahead you have to book things like venue and photographer. I know with our photographer, she usually books about a year ahead. But it depends on how many weddings they do a year and the venue depends on the same thing along with how popular a venue is. The time of year you want to get married too also tends to set the timeline. Me and my Fiance are having a year long engagement, we got engaged last August and we are getting married in 5 months and some change. A 6 month to a year long engagement is usually within the realm of realistic planning to get everything done. ๐Ÿ™‚ Good luck and happy planning! Post a ring pic! ๐Ÿ™‚ LOL

I think that’s one of the first things you need to decide! At least narrow it down to year and season. If you’re having a short engagement, figuring out the date soon is important, but for longer engagements, you can wait to figure out the exact date. We have a short engagement (almost 7 months) and we actually knew the date before the engagement. ๐Ÿ™‚

Congrats!  That’s up to you! Fiance and I took a few weeks. We wanted to enjoy the “engagement” for a bit first

Wonderful news! Congrats! There’s probably no rush, so try to pick a time that gives you and your Fiance the most time to enjoy yourselves!
