Its actually been almost 2 weeks since it happened but with being away and getting straight back into work PLUS the excitment of the proposal im only posting now.
He proposed the day before our 4 year anniversery during our cruise.
We were off the ship on a tiny, tiny island in Fiji. It would have taken 10 minutes tops to walk around the whole thing, we took a boat to the island from the main island. It was one of the most beautiful places i have ever been and we had just got back from snorkling (which was fairly excting on its own- i had just jumped of the boat into the water, looked below my feet and there was a shark! my absolute worst fear!) and we were having a barbecue lunch. Once we finished i went for a walk around the island and came back and SO was gone, i walked over to some palm trees and there he was.
Everything was normal and we were just sort of talking about what to do next and i was standing on a rock and leaning against the palm tree. Next thing a group of native Fijians began singing a native song and i was watching them and i looked over at him to see if he was enjoying it and he was down on one knee!
He said a few short (very short) sentences and then asked ” So what are we?” which is what he asked when he was trying to ask me to be his girlfriend. I was giggling the whole time and didnt say anything ( I giggle when im nervous) so he then asked “will you marry me, yes or no?” I finally said yes and he tried to put the ring on my finger but he couldnt get in untied from the ring box (He got a hand made wooden ring box) so i get nervous and start giggling again and then he finally gets it untied and slips it on my finger and his hands were shaking!
We kiss and hug and then he reached down and pick the go pro off the ground! he had filmed the whole thing.
I am a shy person and i didnt want anyone else on the island to see what he was doing. I wanted the moment to just be ours. But it was perfect and the ring was perfect.
