I can’t believe it. I got the email yesterday. I am still 4 months out so Im not panicking, but when were meeting with caterers 3 months ago they were all saying we were last minute THEN. We chose him because he was wayyyy cheaper, I just couldn’t deal with the pretentiousness and high prices of the big companies. So I’m trying to view this as an opportunity to scale back the menu more. I’m intrigued by BBQ. I’m having a rustic/barn wedding so maybe this would work? AAHHHH. Picking a caterer was the first thing after venue and most stressful thing I’ve done! I can’t believe I have to do it again!

Oh no 🙁 I’m really sorry! I hope you’re getting any deposits back that you may have put down. I think BBQ would fit a rustic/barn wedding really well. Keep us posted on who you choose!

Do not worry. A similar (if not worse) thing happened to me. THe hotel where I booked my wedding from October 2009 told us that they misquoted us on the capacity of the room. Basically, they can’t hold the 250 guests that we had ALREADY sent the save the dates to. You can imagine my panic. Everything worked out and we got an even better venue. It will all be ok 🙂

A bbq could be really fun! Try non traditional options like restaurants that might also cater, rather than just typical wedding caterers, and you might be able to get around the pretentiousness 😉
