My photographer is all about shooting in the rain. He actually thinks its makes for better pictures because it gives a sleek shine to everything and provides great lighting (apparently cloudy/rainy days are better than sunny for shooting purposes, who knew?). He suggested to us to bring some of those big golf umbrellas (in wedding colors would be best!) to make for some fun pictures in the rain. I saw what he did with them and they were amazing. If you don’t go that route, I guess you will have to do indoors :-/. I’m not sure what else is around you to offer anything better!!

Take an umbrella and rock the outdoor pictures! My friend (who did our E-pics) was SO happy that it was cloudy/rainy the day that we did our engagement pics and my siren shoot in the water. The lighting is much easier to deal with. It’s always easy to make things brighter when it comes to editing, it’s hard to make them darker and make it realistic. Clouds give enough cover so it doesn’t blow things out as opposed to the sun.

Either way, I’m sure everything will be GORGEOUS!

Why don’t you do your ceremony at the reception venue, but go to the park for pictures? Take cover at some shelters, under a bunch of trees, and under an umbrella. Hell, take some cute rain boots, too!

Here’s some inspiration for ya!

I wish people who stop with the “it’s good luck” crap.  It rained on my wedding day. Yes, it was great that we were squinting and it is better to take pictures away from glaring sun, but it was a problem.  It really sucky problem.

Your photog should scout spots for photos at the venue.  There must be some sort of covered patio or porch somewhere, right?  Milk it.  Stand at the very edge of get the effect of being out in nature.

Consider changing your hair style, if you had plans to leave it down.  I really wish someone had just told me NO with regards to my hair.   I was in a daze and was relying on my stylist and friends to make decisions about hair and make up.  Everyone wanted to please and fulfill my wishes…and I could have used some realistic advice about putting my hair up. The curls didn’t take, despite three rounds with curlers and curling irons.

@Birdee106:  I said it so you wouldn’t be all down about it. the weather forecast for my wedding week was rain rain rain all day but come the day itself, the sun was shining, the birds were singing, and the beach was gorgeous.

so I’m not saying that outta my ass. There was a real chance of rain the entire week of my wedding!

Are you planning to take pics before or after the ceremony? It rained on our wedding day, too, and we were planning to take all our pics before so couldn’t really get all wet up for the ceremony. It totally sucked, sorry to say. We just did indoor photos at the venue and now Icouldn’t care less about getting those pics. Call around to indoor spaces and see if they’ll let you take photos there, like a greenhouse or conservatory. Then you might get a feel of being outside even though you’re in. We tried that but it was too late for us, but you might have time
