So, it may be an obvious statement, but engagements and proposals are EVERYWHERE except in my house!
Of course you will find reference to them in the usual places like the TV, the radio etc (especially around holiday time) but I can’t even get away from it at school!
I log into my college’s website to introduce myself for my online course. I figured I would click on a few other people’s introduction posts to see who all is there and the first one I click on is a woman talking about being married to her best friend.
I smiled since her post was very sweet. I click to see the response and it’s another girl talking about her engagement story and how magical and special it is and how she is 18 (!) and I just . . . . .
I’m going to go hide now and do some homework.

@Tunacupcakes: I feel ya! Everywhere! I think we’re keen to it also. It’s kinda like when you get a new car and you start seeing it everywhere…

Been there! It could be worst believe me. I’m 33 and watched a lot of my friends get married in their 20s… I just hadn’t found the right man yet. I’m sure I’m not the only bride in her 30s on this board but I do understand how you feel when I read about very young women getting married. Not that it’s a bad thing….age has nothing to do with it but at times I did ask myself the question “why am I not married yet?”

@minie77: Don’t worry I’m there with you! At this point basically everyone is married so at least I’m not seeing the engagement announcements everywhere. The last set of friends got engaged last year. The last set of aquintances got engaged over the holidays.
Now basically I’m just waiting for my current crop of single friends to find people and get engaged. (Before me of course.)
Ah well what are you going to do.

LOL, I’m sure it’s coming for you and that you will be engaged before all your single friends 🙂
