So, I’m having a smaller wedding, with around 50 people, for a morning wedding. I figured that since my wedding was in the morning, there wouldn’t be dancing and I hired a jazz trio for some kind of entertainment. But besides eating and listening to the music, there will be nothing else. And our wedding is slotted for 3 and a half hours for the reception. I’m thinking I have nothing but just sitting around for the guests to do.

The majority of parties I’ve been to haven’t had “entertainment” but are still a good time to catch up with people and maybe meet some new ones. I don’t dance so I never partake in that “entertainment” at typical weddings and still always have a good time!

Our wedding had sixteen people at the reception and it was just dinner and music playing. Our reception also lasted about three and a half hours. Everyone had an awesome time and I don’t think anyone was bored!

Guests love to mingle with no problem at all when there is no dancing, etc. Don’t worry about it.

Thank you so much guys! That makes me feel better. I think it’s from watching too many episodes of Four Weddings that makes me think I need to have crazy amounts of entertainment.

We were thinking the same thing as ours will also be a small wedding but as others have said, with it all being friends and family they will want to catch up anyways. We are having a giant jenga in the garden to play and a photobooth in lobby so there are a couple of other little bits of things going on if people don’t want to get up and dance straight away x

As long as there are comfortable seating arrangements that encourage conversation, beverages and food/finger foods, people will sit and chat and enjoy the atmosphere. Don’t worry about entertaining everyone, getting to visit with the nearest/dearest will be the perfect afternoon for many 🙂
