OMFG you guys. After the first ring we picked fell through because it couldn’t get resized, we went to look again. I’d expected to wait up to three months for a custom order, but that’s no longer the case!! We went to a different store and tried on a few without being uber impressed. I pointed one out that he hadn’t noticed yet and tried it on. We both made a weird utterance of surpirse. It really fit my hand perfectly even though it’s not at all what I expected to like. It’s a classic five stone ring with matching band. And the best part – the sample was a size 6 and could be resized in two weeks! TWO WEEKS! Not three months!!
He bought it then and there. On the drive home I probed a little for how long he’s going to wait after he picks it up. He said it would be burning a hole in his pocket and there’s no use keeping it for himself, that I wouldn’t have to wait any longer than Christmas!
He’s talking to my dad tomorrow on Thanksgiving, which my dad will be totally jazzed about. I think he wants to do the proposal on the 5th when we run the North Face Endurance Challenge (we’re both outdoorsy and total North Face addicts). He mentioned that he hopes it comes in two weeks from today and not two weeks from Monday, which means he wants it on that weekend.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! I’m so bleeping glad I don’t have to wait three months!
And I honestly want to thank all the ladies on this board for sharing your ups and downs of waiting. I love how we’re essentially complete strangers that share these universal emotions.
And P.S. engagement chicken bleeping works . I made it in August using Barefoot Contessa’s version.
