haah I live in Rome and went to the RomaSposa wedding fair. Most of the photographers were… honestly pretty horrendous. Lots of supercheesy things like what you’ve just posted! In general the whole thing freaked me out, it was all excessively tacky (the bomboniere above all, omg, horrible horrible things!!)

There are a few decent photographers here though and if you’re somewhere not too inaccessible you could contact someone and ask them to travel?

I do think it’s worth getting a pro in, ot least because you want your family and friends to be relaxing and celebrating, not stressing about taking photos

@Quickiebee:  This is a common question that people have… the debate between family/friendor or pro photographer.  Definitely hire a pro!  I’ve got two great reasons:

    1.  It doesn’t matter how nice the camera is if the person using it doesn’t know what to do with it.  And just because they may know how to take still life/children/dogs/whatever does not mean they will know what to do during a wedding.  This is your one chance to capture this day… a little money is worth getting great shots.

    2. You don’t want your sister and grandma to have to feel stressed about giving you beautiful photos instead of relaxing and celebrating your marriage!  Even if they are willing to do it, it’s much better to let them be invited guests and not have to work the event.

There are a ton of horror stories on this forum from people who used friends/family or an amateur photographer to capture the wedding and regretted it.

Hahahahahahahaha those fuzzy edges, I’m dying, I can’t even.

I kinda like the jumping shot though… maybe I’ll do that at my wedding!

It always sucks when vendors have bad websites. It’s like hello, it’s 2013, get a grip.

hmm a lot of the Roman ones are… frankly tacky. The biggest company is Colizzi (based round the corner from my house) and they’re often quite naff looking (also the website is hilariously bad). Have you looked at Napoli-based photographers?

My brother-in-law got married in Ravello, I think they used Gianni di Natale: http://www.giannidinatale.com/it/

Oh my goodness! These are aweful! I’d spring the $$ and just fly someone in(maybe from somewhere else in europe?). Save myself the trouble of having to sift through all that crap!!
