Hi, I’m wanting to do an Italian style buffet. Was wanting some good ideas on food to make that doesnt cost an arm and a leg. We are funding the wedding , reception, and honeymoon ourselves so we are on a tight budget. Thanks!

Green Salad (Insalata)
Foacaccia and Garlic Bread
Chicken- Florentine or Cacciatora
Pasta station with several sauces

For a May wedding, a lot of summer veggies aren’t in season. I would do:
Pasta with red sauce
Meatballs and/or Chicken parm
Pasta alfredo or carbanara

Thanks for the ideas, i’m trying to get everything figured out my brother went to culinary arts school and he said he would cater for me 🙂 I’m Italian and my FH loves Italian food, so it just works. Thanks for all the ideas if you think of any more let me know thanks 🙂

@mariegerbasi: We are doing similiar, although I wouldn’t say ours is itailian, per say. We’re catering in fazoli’s which is very cost effective, and there will be TONS of food.
The groom & I and are families are extremely picky eaters. We’re very simply type of people and we’ve never really tried anything fancy. We’re the stay at home & cook type of people. This is the jist of what we’re doing :
Cherry Apple Almond Salad
Classic Cesar Salad
Breadsticks w/ assorted dips
Meatballs in Marinara
Stuffed Pizza Sticks – Pepperoni
Stuffed PIzza Sticks – Cheese
Toasted Ravioli in Marinara
Twice Baked Lasagna
Penne with Creamy Basil Chicken
We will also have a cocktail hour before our buffet dinner.

@jenilynevette: MMM sounds good, we are going with an Italian/American thing mainly for the kids. I’m pretty picky too lol so i know what you mean. How many is in your party? Fazoli’s , I didn’t know they catered. That’s good to know

@mariegerbasi: Well, they don’t cater per say. But they have party size meals and they drop off & set up if you purchase the burners, works for us!

@jenilynevette: Hey that works! Glad you found something great and easy! Heck if i would have known that earlier on i probably would have gone that way!

Ohhh nice choice on the Fazoli’s, everyone LOVES their breadsticks! and I love the idea of serving bruchette and caprese salad, they are both quite light options which I think guests will love to snack on! What are you thinking of doing with the drinks?
@mariegerbasi: I know right! Originally I was going to go with the Olive Garden, but fazoli’s is pretty awesome and cheaper!
