@April11bride: We went to Venice and Florence last April. Got in thru Paris and used Travelocity, which I hate…long story. But any search engine, like kayak.com should send you alerts when prices drop to your liking. We used a Starwood card to rack up points to stay at Venice hotel for (little) cash/points.  If it’s 2500 per per person, depending on your origination city, Costco has some nice travel itineraries. None of these options included a car. Catching the train was simple and beautiful though. Depends on your taste. And you gotta check the train website b/c occasionally they have scheduled train strikes.

*Watch Depp/Jolie’s The Tourist. They filmed it in April. We saw almost everything they showed in the movie. 🙂 Venice is very easy/fun to get around. Also, no car needed!

Dependent upon when your wedding is, that may be challenging. Italy is very popular in April because everyone wants to go see the pope for Easter. It really drives up the price.

At $2500 per person, you should be ok. But if you’re thinking $2500 total, it will be next to impossible.

Travelzoo.com sends weekly deals and there’s usually an Italy one on there.

We went last November and spent about $2500 for 6 days in Rome and Venice.

We’re honeymooning in June in the Italian Riviera. Try venere.com for hotels. They have a range of hotels from affordable to luxury prices.
