@Flanders:  Aww! 🙂 I’m definitely happy to have a counterpart.  DH is the one who kills all the spiders/insects that find their way into our house.  Otherwise, I’m standing on top of a couch or bed screaming bloody murder! LOL

Lol.. OMG almost the same thing happened to me two weeks ago, but it was a squirrel. I called my FI in hysterics.. COME HOME NOW!!! SAVE ME FROM THIS MONSTER IN OUR HOUSE!!

lol.. Sure enough, he came home…caught the squirrel and life made sense again.

I don’t know where along the line I became such a weenie.. I used to be so tough! Lol

@pengoala:  LOL, I am the same way. I will randomly scream in the house and FI will calmly walk over and ask, “where is it?” He doesn’t even worry that I could be dying anymore, lol. He used to run over in a panic and now he realizes that screaming hysterics = nasty bug(s).

@Flanders:  I was in a very long term relationship (over 10 years) and when we broke up, I had to learn to be single again. After a couple of years, I was able to operate on my own and I was very proud of myself. So while I don’t feel I “need” FI, I do love to have him around. We balance each other out and make up for what the other lacks. Knowing that I always have someone to count on, no matter how big or small the issue is, means the world to me. Even when I don’t “need” him, I happily let him rescue me and do yucky jobs around the house, which we affectionately call “boy jobs” lol.

@Flanders:  Haha yup! We were in a LDR for 5 years while I did my Masters and Doctorate degrees and I’d call him screaming bloody murder. Obviously there was nothing he could do then!  My cat has saved me from a few roaches here and again…ugh life living in Austin! 😛

I apparently forgot how to take care of my car! My fiance works in the industry so he always takes care of it now, but before he came along I was completely on top of all maintenance. Now he washes it, takes it for oil changes, checks my tires, everything!

@orchidaloha:  +1. That is one (of many) “boy jobs” that FI has, lol. He took it upon himself to be in charge of vehicles though, so I don’t feel bad about it.

@Flanders:  I am. I hate putting out the trash. When I try, I always hear something lurking beneath the rubbish bin and as soon as I see a cricket or something, I drop the bag and bolt. I’m terrible… I also hate cutting the grass. It takes me 45 minutes to start the lawn mower. It’s sad and pitiful. I used to call my dad crying and telling him how much I hate it. I no longer have to do these things and I’m so grateful for it.

I also hate mice and spiders. The cat kills the mice and tries to bring them to me, and I freak out, run to my bedroom and call FI to come deal with it. He thinks I’m a looney but I always tell him thank you and it will be better when we’re married because he won’t have to travel so far to come rescue me. lol

I texted my DH the other day while he was already at work, here’s how it went:

Me: Babe, there’s a bug in the shower & I need to get ready for work :[

DH: Just turn the shower on, love.

Me: Oh you’re right!  I panicked ;]

DH: I love you!

Bless that man’s heart for putting up with me!  I don’t do bugs, never have!  When I lived alone, I used to call my brother haha.  Like turning on the water [leaning over the bug] that morning made me uncomfortable, but I needed to shower!  Seeing as I’m in my mid-20s, I’m not sure if/when I’ll ever “grow” out of this.  Such is life & DH still loves me ;]

@Flanders:  I was on my own for about 10 years until DH and I got married.  I was pretty much super woman…fixed everything myself, wasn’t afraid of bumps in the night, super independent….then…..I got married and became a whimp.  Case in point…several months ago I decided to watch Jaws.  The one that takes place in the Bahamas.  STUPID on my part b/c we are going to the Bahamas next week.  Well, at one point, I just couldn’t take it anymore and was sooooo scared.  I literally called DH on my cell phone, hiding underneath a blanket to have him come downstairs from his office and turn off the movie.  Not one of my finer moments.
