Okay, so I posted a week ago about my ring, and my concerns about whether the diamond is set too high. The high setting made my diamond stick out more prominently, but I was really afraid that it would get caught on things and I also thought that it looked sort of awkward for this particular setting. See below link for pics (the pictures were in the third entry, because I wasn’t able to post pics from my iPad in the first entry– just scroll down a bit).
Relative concensus was that the diamond was, indeed, set too high. It was bothering me too, so I decided to take it back to the jeweler to get set lower.
It’s back and I love it! I am so happy that I got it reset. What do you all think? Right decision? (Please excuse the gangly nails, and the low-quality cell phone pics!)

I had to go back to your old post and see the pics…but I love the way it’s set now! Beautiful! I’m so glad you’re happy with it! (BTW- your ring is so my style and I LOVE it! Gorgeous!)

@Papillon23: Thank you so, so much! I like this style too! Makes me feel like a princess! 🙂

Definitely love the lower set. I specifically told my husband I didnt want a ring that just had a stone awkwardly sticking out really high and wanted a smoother uniform look.

I usually prefer higher settings, but I think yours looks great!

I like it a lot more now! I tend to gravitate towards low set diamond settings though. It looks beautiful and I’m sure it’s much more practical.

Thanks so much everyone! I am thrilled with how it came out. It was so much fun picking my own setting, and still special since it’s the diamond that DH proposed to me with (which he spent so much time picking out without my even knowing)! Thanks again! 🙂
