My boyfriend has been subtly dropping hints since we bought our house that he’s going to propose soon. Our anniversary is a just couple weeks away now, and I’ve been suspecting he’ll pop the question during this time. He asked me casually last week if I’d take a couple days off work, including our anniversary, for us to have a little vacation. We booked a really nice hotel package in the downtown of our city, and I couldn’t be more excited! He took me back to the jewelry store last month to get my ring size and have the ring made up just the way we wanted it, so I expect that he wanted it ready by this time. I can feel it all falling into place now, so I’m just biding my time waiting a couple more weeks for our special day to happen.
Did any of you see your proposal coming from a mile away? I know there’s about a million threads like this out there already, but it’s just so much fun to hear all of your stories and share in the excitement on a lazy Sunday 🙂

Pretty sure it’s happening on my birthday in a month! Picked the ring last fall, he asked “what was your ring size again?” in December, and I secretly know he got the ring the beginning of March. So I’ve been impatiently waiting for a few months lol. But he said something Friday that made me pretty sure my bday is when it’ll happen. I can’t wait!

I had absolutely no idea I was going to be proposed to so no. Had I known I would have worn something more glam than flannel pjs and a messy bun.

Hey I was in ripped jeans, a t-shirt and a messy bun! I was also sweaty and gross from moving all day hahah.
I suspected he might propose the day we moved in together, but in the craziness of the move I forgot and was taken aback when he pulled out a ring at 11:30pm in our new kitchen. I liked that it was a surprise 🙂

we were having a movie marathon in bed and he had given the boys $100 for bowling or pool and pizza. He told them he would text them when I gave him my answer, but I should have suspected something because his phone was blowing up. It was quite a happy, casually dressed nite!

So excited for you!!! It sounds like it’s right around the corner:)

Sounds like it’s coming soon!
We had a ring designed together, so I knew it was coming at some point. We had been quoted 8-10 weeks for the ring, but it was actually ready in ) weeks. The day Fiance picked it up, he told me the jeweler needed an extra week from the original quote, so I had absolutely no idea it was ready early. He proposed the next day, and I was shocked.

I knew it was coming becuase he mentioned that his father, and two brothers all proposed at the 6 month mark. Our 6 month mark coincided with an anniversary trip to Alaska and that’s where he proposed.

We’ve had the ring since mid February and he told me that he is going to propose on our trip in May.
I AM SO EXCITED.
And he told me mainly because he wants me to carry the ring through the airport since I travel with a crossbody purse and he’d feel safer that way.

when he said “will you marry me” had no idea it was coming. 🙂

I’m probably in the minority, but both of us have had a hand in planning the proposal. Last spring we started talking about getting married and my partner actually suggested a plan for our honeymoon at that time. We’re pretty adventurous and love to travel, and we’ve been wanting to do the Camino de Santiago together for a long time. He thought it would be a perfect proposal to finish the Camino together and wrap up one “journey” before starting a “long journey” (metaphoric, neh?) but since we were in the process of moving to the same city last summer and getting new jobs, he knew we wouldn’t be able to do that this coming summer. Then my parents started planning a trip to Norway for the whole family including the two of us and we both thought it’d be a perfect place to get engaged. That plan fell through and we planned a trip to France instead and we decided he’d propose in France.
To us, it’s unthinkable to not plan together at least in part. We talk about EVERYTHING and there’s no way one of us would feel confident planning something like this without getting assistance from the other.

I knew mine was coming! I had found the ring 😄 a couple of weeks before our anniversary. I thought he would probably do it on the day of our anniversary, and when that morning came and he “didn’t get me anything” I knew for sure…he proposed that evening 😁 I later found out that he was planning on doing it the next weekend when we were visiting our hometown but he couldn’t wait!

I was pretty sure the day of mine, but didn’t want to dress too glam because I didn’t want him to know I knew!! I just wore my favourite jumper and a comfy skirt!
