I’ve never understood this Facebook relationship change. Aren’t you either broken up or you aren’t? I mean, there are times where you fight, but I wouldn’t put that on my Facebook as “it’s complicated”. I’m just confused..

Agreed. People who actually use that status are looking for attention or something. It kind of means (to me): I’m technically in a relationship, but still looking for something bettter!

@LittleDee27: I sorta agree with this. I also think it’s an attention thing sometimes – because realistically, if Fiance and I were in a huge blowout, I wouldn’t advertise it like that to the world ya know? some people just love any type of attention – eesh!

@sorrycharlie: Agreed! I really don’t understand it, but I’m glad they have since added the other relationship statuses so every type of relationship can be represented

@SweetRose2011: I also agree. As someone in a relationship I don’t believe that having problems constitutes a new relationship status…you’re still in a relationship, you’re just toughing some stuff out.
The only way I could imagine it’s complicated as being viable is if you have a baby mama/daddy in the wings (and let’s face it–when is that not complicated) but are looking for a relationship.

I’m a believer that if it is “complicated” then you are kidding yourself into believing you aren’t single.

There is actually a Facebook page that I “liked” on Facebook that is called “It’s Complicated”… Don’t kid yourself, you’re single!

@Tswife4ever: See? My sentiments are echoed by the masses. lol

it’s used when you can’t face the harsh reality that your relationship is over, or you don’t have the backbone to break up with the person you’re with (IMO). then again, i don’t use facebook!

It makes me uncomfortable when people post that. It’s just not my business.
