foz:  I LOVE your ring. What’s the width of the halo and the ring band? It looks incredibly delicate… does it ever feel like it could snap off? I’m contemplating 1mm-2mm for halo and band but am worried about it being too thin or too chunky!

thewonghannah:  Thank you! The width of my band and halo is 1.3 mm. The halo actually looks a bit narrower but that’s because the diamonds in the halo are set kind of on an angle (relative to the center stone).

I absolutely love the width of my ring! It feels 100% sturdy, which is probably partly owing to it being platinum. For me, platinum was important to get because I didn’t want to be worrying about having a thin band or micropave setting. 

If you haven’t already, I would definitely try some rings on with different widths because you might find that a certain width really works on your hand. For myself, I really liked bands between ~1.3 and 1.8mm but that was basically it. Good luck with your ring shopping 🙂
