i got the call two weeks ago saying my dress was in. my mom was away so i had to wait til she got back… i cant go see my dress without her!
i headed off to the store with two of my sisters and my Maid/Matron of Honor. i was more so freaking out that the dress would come in with beading and without a train. that was quickly put to rest.
there was no bead work on the top, and there was a train! yay! however upon trying it on i soon learned that i could fit another small person in there with me. it was too big! like if i let go of my boobs when holding it up it would fall right down to the ground! the lady helping me asked if i had lost weight… nope. she then mentioned that sometimes the makes of the gown goof and put the wrong tag on the wrong dress. so its probably the right size tag, just on the wrong size gown.
the only majorly sucky thing about this is that i now have to fork over more money than i was planning to alter it down to my size. we also have to have the top changed to being pleated all the way across as the top just looks unfinished now without beading in the middle.
my sisters had taken photos for me. when i got home and looked at them the dress is even way lower in the back than the original sample i had tried on!!!! i am a plus size bride… i do not do low backs because of how my back looks!
i am going back to the store today to talk with the seamstress about what we can do about this. i want the back to just be a little higher up and the lacing to come up higher too. its a corset style back.
cross your fingers and pray that they can do this, as i will have to order more fabric and pay for the alterations. FUNNER!
