Last night, I posted a “show me” thread because I was feeling super anxious about the color combination of my newest RHR: London Blue Topaz and Peridot. I wasn’t sure if the blue and green would go together very well.
The ring arrived today (a day earlier than expected — woohoo!), and I LOVE it. This is my first time owning anything with either London Blue Topaz or Peridot in it, and my first time seeing London Blue in person. Wow! I am so blown away by the gorgeous and moody blue of this topaz. It changes so much, depending on the type of lighting, and it is one of the prettiest shades of blue. I’ve been jonesing for a London Blue for a while, and I’m so happy to have one.
This is Gemvara’s “Naomi” ring, set in sterling silver. (Thanks to a $50 off sale — yay!) I love the setting even more than I did in the online pictures. I’ve been all about bezels lately. I think I’m becoming obsessed with them — ha, ha!
This is how I will typically wear it, stacked with the ring that’s for my Dirty Delete. This is inside, next to a sunny window. (shown on my left hand, because i can NOT manage to photograph my right one)

Omgoodness that is a beautiful ring!! I’ve never seen peridot look so beautiful. It’s my birthstone and the usual ones I see are such a faded out light green.

Gorgeous! I love peridot, not my birthstone, but is my favorite color. My Fiance got me a peridot necklace for valentines day a few years ago and it’s my favorite necklace. Love the bezel setting!!

SouthernBee00: majorairhead: LoveMyBrit: Yipeebee: Bridey77: Lakeside003: prettyinpink11: molokoa: pink.lemonade: Thank you all so much! I’m thrilled to bits with how it turned out. In my younger years, I never imagined wanting any ring bezel set. I didn’t like that type of setting at all. But tastes change, and I’m so glad mine did. I’m totally crazy for bezels now and think they are such a beautiful setting. The ring is super comfortable, too. I can see myself wearing this particular ring pretty much every day.
KeeKalena: Thank you! I was super, super happy with how green the peridots were. When I initially picked the setting and stones out, I was going to go with green amethyst, thinking that a more muted green would look better with the london blue. But my daughter liked the peridot and convinced me to go with that, instead. She said the brighter green was better. Now that I’ve seen it in person, I totally agree with her — ha, ha! A friend of mine in high school had a really pretty peridot ring. It was her birthstone, too. I remember hers being a rather bright green, too. But that was years ago, so my imagination might have made it brighter than it was in real life — ha, ha! It’s such a beautiful stone and birthstone!
peacock0320: Thanks! It’s way better than I was imagining, too — ha, ha! As I said, my daughter convinced me to go with the peridot, instead of the more muted green amethyst I would have picked out if left to my own devices. I felt so brave and bold in picking these stones and colors to go together. Then, as soon as I hit the purchase button, I kept hearing my mom telling me: “Blue and green should not be seen.” And I kept having this sinking feeling that I had made a HUGE mistake. I’m so relieved it turned out OK.
lavenderstone: Thanks! I don’t think I got any pictures of it from the side yesterday. But I will take one and post it for you to see later on today or this evening. I don’t have access to my camera or desktop at the moment. Even though it’s a plain setting on the side (kind of a tall bezel, I guess?), I like that it has very clean lines to it. To me, that makes it really pretty.
allyfally: Wow! Thank you so much for your very kind words. I was so anxious waiting for this one to arrive … certain I had screwed up in the most monumental way possible. Now that it’s here and I love it, I feel so so relieved and thrilled. I think this will probably become my “go-to” RHR. It’s got such clean lines that it can kind of dress up or down. And the setting is super comfortable, too.
