I haven’t mailed mine out yet, but my wedding is in September. I plan on sending them out the end of July.

8 weeks is the standard- you are still ok but GET THEM OUT!

I think most guideliness suggest 6-8 weeks.  There are a few factors that may affect your situation: Did you send out a save-the-date? Do you have a small guest list of mostly close friends who are really excited about your wedding?

My wedding date is also July 25.  I sent mine out a couple weeks ago, but I have a lot of Out of Town guests, so I wanted to give them plenty of time to make travel arrangements.

I think you should be fine as long as you get them out soon.

If I were you I would send soon. Like this weekend.  I am already booked for a wedding and two Bachelorette parties later this summer.  Some friends and extended family members will forget even if you did send save the dates.

I got a little too antsy and sent them out 5 and 4 months in adavance. well we actually had a huge family ‘reunion’ type thing with my family like 2 days after I got my invitations back so just took them and gave them out there (that was start of April…my wedding in August..)

Don’t worry– I think 6 to 8 weeks is fine.  Did you send Save the Dates, or do most people pretty much already know when the wedding is?

@sweetnenz–I dropped our invites in the mail today for a July 26 wedding.  I think most etiquette recommendations say no earlier than 8 weeks.  Especially if you had a save the date, you’re fine.

Mine are scheduled for the 8 week mark; plenty of time for fols to plan their trip. While we didn’t do std’s (too few people) everyone who may actually attend was notified this week for our October wedding, so they can plan ahead…

Mine went in at 9 weeksish. i was kinda irritated because i had checked all my addresses, and i still had like 3 come back "return to sender" but almost a MONTH late! Grr!

Anyways, I was able to get an idea earlier of who was coming and it allows Future Mother-In-Law and Future Sister-In-Law to not worry about who they were inviting to my shower. One invite never made it, but hey, one in 100 aint’ bad.

I think you’re still safe as long as you’re cranking on it. I agree, summer’s busy and I would hate to have to committ to something else.

Notice my wedding date…(4 Jul 09)

My Fiance is addressing our envelopes.  Right now.  As I type happily on the Bee.  Yeah, I love him!  But don’t worry about your invites.  If you sent Save-The-Date Cards, you’re fine!!  We’re sending ours out tomorrow.
