I been out of work for months have applied everywhere in Toronto even factories, min. wage jobs, just everywhere no where is hiring me. I have been trying to be optimistic but I turned 24 today and feel like shit knowing Ive been job hunting since end of November.Just sick of being online applying everyday doing tests everyday going to job agencies and no response.I’m just so frustrated 🙁

I had the same problem after I graduated college. I was 23 and couldn’t find any meaningful (or unmeaningful for that matter) employment- I’m from Michigan so I know the situation. Economy is terrible 🙁
Have you thought about relocating for work? We moved from Michigan to Virginia and there are so many more opportunities here.

I know how frustrating that can be. I was out of work for a little while as well.
Have you tried asking people you know? Even if they can’t get you hired at their work they might have things you can do for them.
I know a woman who was a nanny for a few years and then became the woman’s personal assistant. She makes better money than I do.
Maybe try a mock interview with someone you really respect in a business job. Ask them to tell you honestly how you interview and give you tips on how you can improve.
I remember my 24th birthday being a real big one as well. You’re offically in your mid-20’s. Maybe ask your Fiance if you can doing something fun to get your mind off it so it still feel like a celebration.

Cheer up! Don’t give up! But today, just focus on having a nice day. Are you doing something to celebrate?

Yeah were going out Friday Saturday so hopefully ill be in a better mood. I been going to employment places got my resume professionally done did all the mock interviews in college and recently with my girls. Most my friends have profession in the field they studied for I been asking around but the economy is so dead here and the jobs that do hire do not take me serious because they label me as someone who would not work in a factory because I’m very petite. My family tell me not to worry they will support me but it feels horrible asking for money from them I used most my money saved till now.I hope I get a job soon it just brings down your confidence knowing no one wants to hire you when you are in fact giving your all looking everywhere.I hope the economy gets better.

Yay!! I’m so glad to hear that you found a job! If you just keep applying & never give up, one always comes around sooner or later– usually later these days (lol). Congratulations!
