Of course flawless diamonds are rare.  Flawless anythings are rare.

@joya_aspera:  You were wrong about your first claim in regards to Russian diamonds, I thought, if you did not have a proper source, you might be wrong about the second claim.

It is not bad form to request a proper source once someone has made a claim.

I’m out of here, I hate discussing diamonds. People get so shrill.

@joya_aspera:  Personally I find this entire topic a waste of time. I regret very much wasting even a minute of my time replying.

@subtlebee: Exactly, it’s a limited consumer pool, meaning limited demand.  I’m not saying that exceptional diamond specimens aren’t rare, in fact, if you look at my previous post, I said, ” the occurence of flawless, colorless specimens is rare.”  Not sure what point you’re trying to debate with me (maybe I’m reading something wrong?).

Ever go to the Smithsonian? I just sit in the jewelry section of it all day and stare at Marie Antoinette’s jewels.

@KatyElle:  Dammit.  Why did I have to go there when I was only 14, and not really interested in anything yet????

So some people really love diamonds and somepeople don’t, and some people don’t care, and some people think Moissie has more “fire”.

Why the hell does any of this matter friends? Seriously?

In the words of Peter, or just this meme:

@joya_aspera: Well it seems the “facts” are in dispute! But, sure. Whatever you said.

I’m going to venture a guess here and say that people’s responses here are likely a reaction to your attitude in various threads expressing a disdain for non-diamonds (more specifically, clear stones). People might question your motives and take a thread like this out of context even if you didn’t mean for it to spark a heated debate. If you want to talk diamonds, great. There are plenty of ladies here who do love them, but you can love diamonds without putting down the choices of others. The ring boards can be fun if you keep that in mind. Just my 2 cents, take it or leave it.
