This happened to my coworker recently, someone took her entire lunch. The crazy part is that we work in an office of 8 people, so everyone knows who it is but no one will say anything. So awkward.

when I worked at an animal hospital- I used to bring my dog to work occasionally. I placed my homemade dog food in the fridge—- (brown rice, ground beef, ground beef liver, bits of veggies and dog vitamins). I caught one the assistants eating it….

@MexiPino:  You don’t know whose food that was, what their kitchen is like, if they share their fork with their dog.

The person who ate is was probably the type who has never cleaned their kitchen and has roaches, and does share their fork with their dog lol

@thegreeneyedkri:  YEAH! I was like thanks– now Mia will be hungry! You just ate her food! His response “Well it didn’t taste right but I just figured you couldn’t cook.”  He then proceded to eat the rest of it— I am positive that the vitamins heated up could not have tasted good/been healthy. Sad thing is everyone that worked there new I home fed my dogs- and always put their food in PINK baby tuberware- clearly was not his and he clearly did not care.

@SparkleBee11:  He CONTINUED to eat it after you told him it was your dogs food?!?  WHAT?  And he had nothing to say for himself for eating someting he knew, was at the very least, someone else’s food.  GAH!

I personally would never want to eat someone else’s food (germaphobe here) so I never understand someone just thinking it’s okay to eat anyone else’s. How annoying. Maybe start putting your lunch in an opaque lunchbag so 1) no one can see what it is and 2) they’re less likely to think it’s community food?

Oh, oh – I have a coffee creamer story too. I work in a government office, so there are lots of employees who use the same breakroom. Everyone puts their name in Sharpie on their food container, but we had a food thief anyway. I had a repeated problem with someone using my coffee creamer, and I have no problem if anyone wants to use it if they ASK, but no-one ever did. It became obvious that I was only getting about half the use out of my own creamers, so I finally got annoyed and poured the creamer into an unmarked container and filled it back to where it had been with milk of magnesia. Never, ever had a problem with someone using my stuff again. I also told all my friends at work first just in case it was one of them, but they all thought it was hilarious.

@Hazlenut:  You are seriously a genius!

At my work we have some communal food, but it’s always easy to tell because communal food goes on the top shelf of the fridge or is left in the middle of the table. If it’s not in those places, it’s not up for grabs.

My coworker had someone take a bite out of his sandwich and put it back.

I used to get my food stolen all the time.  Then I had a pork chop that I should have thrown away.  But, I took it and made a cream of mushroom sauce and added some noodles and left it in the fridge.  After that, the only items that would go missing were prepackaged UNOPENED foods.
