My ring is finally insured! We’ve been engaged since last November and I finally got around to taking out a policy with Jewelers Mutual! I’m so relieved! Now I can breathe a little easier when I “rock” something (my FI’s term for whacking things, including him, with my ring).
Does anyone else have policies? What company is your favourite and why?

I’ve got Jewlers Mutual as well. I need to add my wedding band to the policy…

Currently in the process of insuring my e-ring and band through Chubb…I liked that they do 150% cash payout so you can shop around for where you want to get your replacement ring instead of being stuck with a specific jeweler. It costs a bit more but only $40 more/yr vs. having it as a rider on our renter’s insurance that’s got less coverage.
Ha! I’ll breathe easier too…I’ve got a job where I’m working a lot with my hands so it’ll be so nice to not have to worry so much 🙂

@mabel2026: That’s really interesting. I’m not sure how that works with Jewelers Mutual, I assumed that they would let me choose a ring from the same jeweler.

@Aure: Jewler’s Mutual lets you work with whatever jewler you want to replace the piece. If the cost of getting something equal to your jewlery has gone up since you purchased it, they will eat the cost. On the converse, if they price has gone down, you don’t get a cash out of the difference. They will pay to replace your ring with something of equal quality, regardless of price.
