Woo-hoo. After being on the market for less than a week, yes less than a week, we closed on the 21st!
It’s so great to have this chapter of our lives closed so we can move on to bigger and brighter things. I bought this house on my own in 2009 and was not thinking about marriage and babies at the time. So, we were planning on out growing our little home, so we did a lot up updating, prepping, and cleaning and put our little place we called home on the market last month.
It truly is a bittersweet moment, but I’m looking forward to buying our first house together as husband and wife, and hopefully starting a little family very, very soon! : )

Do any of you bees know of an excellent web site that I can use for searching for homes? I’m googling things, but I don’t care for what I’ve found.

@Rubbs: Use Redfin.com – it’s the best and most up to date 🙂

@Yellow.Clover: Congratulations!!! Wow, less than a week?! I really want to ask you what part of VA you’re in (I’m from there – just moved to the NYC area a few years ago after living in VA my whole life) because I’m curious how the market is in different areas down there, but I totally understand if you don’t want to share. If you do, though, PM me cuz I’m curious. Either way, though, congrats again!!

@Yellow.Clover: Awww, congratulations!!! That was fast!
I’m sure you do have mixed feelings on such a big move (no pun intended, lol) in your life. I hope that your first house together as husband and wife brings lots of baby dust with it. xoxo

Exciting! The markey here is like that – if it isn’t under contract within a week of listing, there is something really wrong with the place. Congrats – so exciting!

@Yellow.Clover: 🙂 Yay!
We just presented our first offer on a house here in VA today! (Assuming our buyer’s agent did in fact send them the paperwork.)
ETA: The house we put an offer on has been on the market since October 11, but we don’t think anything major is wrong with it. It’s just a townhouse built in 1994 listed at a higher price than a brand new, not-even-built-yet townhouse in the same area.
The market here in NoVA is pretty good though 🙂
