Unfortunately the venue we selected isn’t available the Victoria Day (Canadian holiday, for those of you not from my neck of the woods) long weekend, and it doesn’t have air conditioning, so the earlier in spring, the better. Heck, if we were getting married May 11 this year, it’s possible it could snow, our weather has been THAT bad.
That being said, we are getting married on Mother’s Day. Not a big deal to my mom, or us … and I don’t think his mom minds either. How can we show our gratitude and honour our mothers and all the mothers at our wedding?
Throw out some ideas! Preferably, ones that won’t add to our budget 😛

My advice – start looking at florists early. I got married the day before Mother’s Day this year, and because it tends to be such a flower-centric holiday, a lot of florists I talked to were wary of adding a wedding for that weekend. Other than that- congrats!

@soon2bmrs2014: Reading this post months after I originally posted it. Haven’t done any wedding planning in months now – everything was done in June – and forgot about the Mother’s Day thing … they’ll get a song during the reception. Preferably not “mama” by Spice Girls (ew).
Something moms will appreciate though … because I was born with a congenital heart defect, in lieu of favours, we will be making a monetary donation to a children’s hospital, to be directed toward the cardiac ward. That will make a lot of moms happy.
