I lost my job today. I knew it was coming and I’m so glad that it’s over. As some of you read (and gave me amazing words of encouragement) I found out last week that my company would be going through a lay off. The last week has been nothing short of torture. Every day I went to work with a major pit in my stomach just waiting for the ax to drop. Today was the day starting at 10am I started laying off my staff. It was something I had been thinking about all week. What would I say to the staff members that were pregnant, getting married, battling breast cancer, etc. None of it would be easy but I was hoping I could come up with something good to say that would make it better, even though no part of it would be good.
Once that was done I was called into a room and quickly dismissed. My heart was racing and I thought I was going to puke, but overall I feel relieved. I’m glad that the wait is over and hopefully something better is on the horizon. The company paid for my cell so I had to drive home not being able to tell even my hubby what had happened. I was so glad that he was still home when I got here. We are also going on a long weekend to visit friends at their cabin and farm in Kentucky and it couldn’t be more perfect timing to just get away from it all

I’m sorry you got laid off! 🙂
So they made you lay off your staff then laid you off?? That is crummy.

Welcome to the club!! The drink is on me:) Sorry they made it worse by making you lay off your staff. Weird the relief you get when the tension is finally gone. I know I felt the relief after the axe was dropped, now I’m going to enjoy unemployment until after my wedding in 30 days. Then I will worry about it. So relax enjoy the moment of nothingness.

They made YOU lay off your staff before they let you go? Oh wow, that’s just low. My blood pressure is rising thinking just about it! Sending major hugs and good thoughts your way. I’m sure you’ll land something soon, just keep up your positive attitude and it will all work out. Use that time at the cabin to unwind, you deserve it. /hugs!

Wow, it sounds like you’ve had a terrible day. And they made you lay off your staff first? So sorry you had to endure all this, hope you can find some peace and clarity on your getaway 🙂

So sorry to hear tht you went through the stress and uncertainty of a layoff, but hoping you will take an opportunity to have some “me time” & decompress. Then, think of the exciting possibilities that lay before you.
Best of luck to you in whatever your next adventure is!
