alrobinson :  steny03 :  that’s a good thought! Or possibly someone has died in an accident in that area? Maybe they were never found.

Does anyone remember a few years back, in a similar thread, a woman talked about living in a remote area with no neighbours and it was her and her child in the house at the time. Her hubby was at work an hour or so away and she was basically terrorized in her house. People were scratching on her walls and dragging a knife along the windows peering in and making loud noises? I’m missing a lot of details but literally that story has stayed with me for YEARS, i think it was about 5-6 years ago. I’m going to try to find it again!

If you all enjoy reading scary true* stories, the website Jezebel hosts an annual Scary Stories contest. People comment with their stories or email them in, then winners are picked and posted around Halloween (the past few years, they’ve posted runner-ups as well). They’ve been doing it since 2015, so there are more than enough to stay up late reading. I’m not sure if links are okay here, but search for “Jezebel scary stories” and enjoy!

*”true” meaning it’s the honor system on the internet, so take with a grain of salt. Readers are pretty good about calling out stories that have appeared elsewhere online, though.
