Don’t change the date. It could rain on your new date just as easily.

Don’t change the date!  I don’t think rain today is an indication that it will rain on the same day next year.  However, as a general rule, I’d say all of us outdoor brides should make sure we’re satisfied with our back up plan.  So, if you don’t have one in place, make sure to do some research about what you can do if it rains.  Tents can be really, really pretty, so don’t discount that yet.  Check it out, you might really like it!

Okay, I just charted out the weather on this date in Philly for the past 10 years. There’s really no rhyme or reason.

Really. Don’t worry. And don’t change it.

Today is my 1 yr too and its also supposed to rain all day!  I wouldnt panic.  What if you picked another date and then it was beautiful on May 14th and rained on the new date?  Now that would suck!

You can find weather history by googling it or checking out the almanac

Ooooh,  my  bad!  But no, I don’t know of how to track the weather.  I’ve been so tempted to just google it because I’m sure I’d find the answer, but it would drive me nuts!  A friend of mine did it for me and said it hadn’t rained on my wedding date in like 8 years, but that didn’t do much for me.

I still wouldn’t change the date though.  I definitely understand your concern but I bet your guests would rather be under a cool tent in May than outside in the hot June sun.  I’ve been to tent weddings without draping and I still thought they were cool.  But draping is really nice, I think you might have to rent that separately though.

You poor thing. Don’t stress yourself out too much yet. Unfortunately, you can’t guarantee sunshine on any date (as much as we all wish we could!). Instead of worrying, figure out a Plan B for if, heaven forbid, you need it.
