@KCKnd2:  My favorite is “defiantly” clearly used in place of “definitely”

@KCKnd2:  This one gets me all the time.  And for some reason on Firefox spell check doesn’t work for me unless I highlight my text and right-click “check spelling” so sometimes I miss it.

OMG LOVE THIS THREAD!  GRAMMAR STICKLERS UNITE!

Anyone ever read the book Eats Shoots and Leaves?

A panda walks into a restaurant, sits down and orders a sandwich. After he finishes eating the sandwich, the panda pulls out a gun and shoots the waiter, and then stands up to go. “Hey!” shouts the manager. “Where are you going? You just shot my waiter and you didn’t pay for your sandwich!”
The panda yells back at the manager, “Hey man, I am a PANDA! Look it up!”
The manager opens his dictionary and sees the following definition for panda: “A tree-dwelling marsupial of Asian origin, characterised by distinct black and white colouring. Eats shoots and leaves.”

LOL a book about punctuation/grammar!  LOVES IT.  <3

While we’re at it, it’s “sherbet” not “sherbert.”

There is no second “r” in there.

I love this thread! Spelling errors drive me insane. One in particular that I see often is the word “loose” instead of “lose.”

And, for brides in particular:

ALTAR is where you say your vows, ALTER is what you do to have your gown custom-fitted.

AISLE is where you walk for the processional. ISLE is a poetic way of saying “island.”

CANON in D is the piece of music that’s extremely popular for wedding processionals. CANNON is a piece of heavy artillery.

@Eight6Eleven:  It’s actually spelled “lemonade.”

@iammcdibble:  LOL Yay. I’m rereading the series and will move on to book 3 today.
