Have a beer!  I’m drinking alone at home because I felt sick — like a cold — and my fiance is going away for his bachelor party in a few days and neither of us wanted him to get sick.  So he’s out with friends and I’m drinking beer and watching Juno.  Do you feel well enough to drink a beer?

Or don’t…have some cookies…or something!  Treat yourself.  =)

It’s better to be inside safe instead of out there with all the crazies! 🙂

@deetroitwhat:  Seriously.  Also my cat is in my lap…shh don’t tell my fiance.  He says he’s allergic so she isn’t allowed out of her room.  Don’t worry, it IS big enough!  But here she is!!! purrrrrrrrrrrrr

 @Starling13:

I had thyroid cancer and a total thyroidectomy as a result.  I can honestly say it really wasn’t that bad. I had been hypo for years and had no idea, so once I had it removed and got on medication, I felt like a whole new person. I literally told my mom “so this is what normal people feel like.”

I’ve been on synthroid for 9 years now.  I’m getting to the age where we are thinking about kids.  My endo assured me that it shouldn’t be a problem (aside from my whole host of other unrelated medical issues). He just to me to call him right away if/when we start to try for a baby.  He mentioned that since my levels are now stable, thyroid related fertility issues are not really a factor.

Sorry you are home alone. My husband is currently studying for midterms so I find myself on my own a lot. Hope you feel better soon!

I am home alone this weekend, too!

My office is right downtown, and I got to see drunk crazies going by the windows all day long. I wanted to go to the bar to join the festivities, but I didn’t want to go drink by myself, and since SO is out of town and my other friends are MIA, I just decided to go home.

But I did stop and get myself some wine, which I am drinking now.

I’m sorry that this is such a bad time for you to be alone. But I’m here being alone with you!

I’m home alone too! My SO lives 1100 miles away (LDRs suck!), and I’m having a glass of wine by myself!

@Starling13:  I was 20 when I was diagnosed with the cancer. Looking back on my symptoms, I was hypo starting at about 16. Gaining weight like crazy, cold all the time, moody as hell, heavy periods, all the classic hypo symptoms. I’m 29 now.  I have had no issues with my medication dose since my treatment. It took a few months to find the correct amount but now I have no problems.  My endo is fantastic and really listened to me during the adjustment period and was willing to up my dose.  I’ve heard some unpleasant stories about endos who are not so sympathetic.

I so understand the fertility fears.  I have three autoimmune disorders and my husband and I are both carriers of a recessive blood disorder that is fatal if dominant.  We are having IVF babies when the time comes.

Feel free to PM me if you ever have any questions especially about the surgery.

@deetroitwhat:  So true! FH is a police officer and they are already preparing for many DUI’s and fatal crashes tonight.

So sorry you aren’t feeling well! 🙁 I am home alone also..I like to drink on occassion but I just can’t be out with all the crazy people this weekend. Pretty sure it is TOTALLY okay for you to feel sorry for yourself today!
