With all the craziness of being in the last month before the wedding, I’m finding such happiness in the little things that make me smile. For instance, the office just leased a new coffee machine that grinds fresh beans for you by the cup. It’s so much tastier than the k-cups, not to mention better for the landfill. I’m on my second cup of the day and it just warms me from the inside out in this frigid AC-cooled office.
What is something small that made you smile today?

We went and bought a gorgeous made-to-measure suit for my fiance yesterday. He had all the measurements done, picked out the fabric, the lining, the details, everything. Afterward he said he was struggling with spending so much money on something for himself even though it was in the budget. We talked through it a bit but he still felt guilty and uncomfortable.
Today I got a text from him about that. He said he was feeling a lot better about it, and said thank you for being encouraging to him and for helping him see that he should get to have special stuff for our wedding day too. He said he’s really chuffed about his suit now and he can’t wait to see it in person. It’s always a little hard to see your SO strugging with something, but I’m so happy he’s feeling better about it and was able to work through all of that in his head.

hickoryhills : That is awesome!!!! My Fiance would have trouble buying something “expensive” also, and it’s so cool that you put it in the budget for him!! We kindof winged it with the budget, as all the premade percentaged weren’t matching up to real life.
keviah12 : My mom tried to grow an avocado plant for YEARS and couldn’t master it! Congrats!!!! 🙂

A little more practical but we moved into a newer, much nicer apartment than our last one a month ago and maintenance finally came to fix a bunch of little repairs so now we can hang all of our stuff on the walls and be officially done moving in!

Love this. I keep a gratitude journal every day & I’ve just finished it actually. Highly recommend that everyone does this!
On Sunday I ordered new prescription glasses. I havent bought new glasses in 9 years & have just worn contact lenses for 5 years. This will save me lots of money every month as my daily contacts are pricey!

So, DH is extremely lazy about packing his lunch (like he would just throw in some chips, snack cakes, fruit snacks, etc like a 10 year old kid) and honestly since its been extremley hot and he works outside he doesn’t ever feel like eating a heavy lunch nor a warm lunch.
Yesterday as I’m cooking dinner I decided to prep a bunch of produce for the two of us, but two items in particular for him: cherries and garden-grown cucumbers, two food items I don’t like. I portioned theme out into baggies so he can just grab them and throw them in his lunchbox.
When he got to work this morning he texted me “Thanks for my lunch prep babe.” along with his usual love you, have a good day. It definitely made me smile this morning. Its the little things.

My little dog seems to be perfectly house trained, seems to have all her grown up teeth, and last night showed she comes back when called when off leash. So l am happy, though still anxious about that last one.

My future in laws have four dogs. One is very skittish and doesn’t like strangers. The past two summers that we’ve visited he stayed far away. Today he let me give him lots of pettings.

My remote control wasn’t changing the channels last night for no reason but it was doing only on/off and volume levels. Not sure if I had to call cable/satellite guy to troubleshoot so I was not looking forward to that. I retried this morning to change the channel and it’s working normally again. LOL
