I love Mirena so much! I had light spotting for two days after and then nothing. Period used to be a nightmare monsoon level flood with traveling cramps for a full 7 days but this month it was light as a feather, no cramping and only lasted 4 days. Everyone is different but this is amazing compared to what I was dealing with before. 😀

Had cramps for a few days. Then I spotted for a week or two and then periods disappeared all together for me.

mwd123 :  I have the paragard and also work in OB/GYN so we do these daily. Spotting is pretty common in the first few days, even the first week. Our docs always have patients come back in 2-4 weeks for a “string check” just to make sure it’s where it should be and address any concerns.

mwd123 :  Its true for some. Fiance said he felt *something* the second week but it wasn’t enough to bother him, he was just aware of a different sensation. By the 5th week he said he no longer felt whatever it was. lol

I love my Mirena! I spotted for a little bit after insertion. My period stopped about 6 months in. I have had it for almost a year.

My fiance can still feel the strings but it doesn’t affect anything.

mwd123 :  Every once in awhile my Fiance can feel the strings. We usually just change position or I can insert a finger and tuck them up around my cervix (TMI? lol). But it doesn’t happen often enough to worry about, although it freaks the Fiance out big time.

I’ve had Paragard for a little over 2 years now, and my Fiance has never once been able to feel either of the strings. Me either, even trying to! It kinda freaked me out but at my last well-check my GYN said it was perfectly in place and everything was fine, and that my strings were just happily tucked up and away. 🙂

mwd123 :  Fiance never did (it’s been 3 years); they left the strings a little long and said they’d cut them if he could, though.

I got one period after Mirena was inserted and nothing since for the past 2 years! It’s pure bliss! My strings softened within the first day or 2 and are curled up around my cervix. I check every few months and can feel them if I really concentrate. My husband has never felt them. Best birth control option I’ve ever tried, I’ll definetly be getting another one in 3 years!

I love my Mirena, but my uterus was super angry for a number of days afterward- bleeding and cramping, and it felt like It was swollen. I had intermittent spotting for about 7/8 months. Now I hardly ever get periods, although I get some random cramping/spotting once in a while. I’ve had mine in for about 3 years

I had my Mirena inserted the first week of August and I’m still spotting 🙁. I go in on Tuesday for my follow up, so I hope to get some peace of mind that everything with it is OK.

mwd123 :  My Fiance has never noticed them.
