My doctor did not advise me against TTC right away after non-hormonal Paraguard removal. He did say that sometimes there’s some inflammation and so not to count that cycle if we are keeping track of how long it takes to conceive, but he didn’t say we should wait. I got pregnant that first cycle and so far so good – now 26 weeks with a healthy baby boy. *knock on wood*

This is just anecdotal but I’ve noticed a log of people miscarrying when they conceive immediately after IUD removal. We plan on waiting a couple of months after my IUD is out to try for a baby.

I just had mine removed recently and my OB didn’t say anything about needing to wait.

meliamartinez31 : absolutely! She is a fertile Myrtle – got pregnant first try twice. Not common at all, but not impossible. Meanwhile I’m over here needing IVF for my baby lol.

With my first child, I got pregnant 3 weeks after the copper IUD came out. Now I haven’t been on BC in 3 years and we are on cycle 2 and i’m like wtf?!?!
