Honestly I removed my own IUD. I know they don’t recommend it, but I spoke to a couple of friends who are nurses beforehand and they said that the only thing my doctor would do is gently pull the strings until it came out. Any complications and I’d need a taxi to hospital.

Not recommending this as you have an appointment! But for me I needed it OUT there and then (I was sick of it, terrible pain for months with it at all times) and I made sure my room mate was on hand ready to help if I needed anything. I later had a hormonal IUD which again I removed myself.

It slipped out easy as pie and I didn’t feel anything but relief. No bleeding, no pain, it was just out.

The removal was super painless. I barely felt it! A quick little pinch and done!
