Why did you apply if you’re already planning on moving to Vegas?

I would let the school know immediatley.. you’re filling a spot that someone else may REALLY want.

Ahh, what would you do bees?  Change the post title from excepted to accepted ๐Ÿ™‚

Without knowing the field you’re entering into, it’s really hard to provide concrete advice.  Some fields are helped immeasurably by the Harvard name and connections.  Others less so.  What’s the price tag difference?  What’s the likely job payback frame for Harvard v. other school?  Have you tried negotiating with Harvard (do they know about the medical debt)?  Have you thought about asking them to postpone your start date by a year?

ETA: I personally wouldn’t choose the online school over Harvard.  I’ve got two Ivy degrees (3 if you could my Masters from the same school as my JD).  My Fiance has two Ivy degrees, one of which is Harvard.  It is incredibly useful name, education and connections.

Sorry but I would never choose online school over Harvard.  Ever.  A masters degree from Harvard is worth putting off the wedding (or scaling it back so you can afford it).  Depending on what field of work you plan to go into you should be able to easily pay off your student loans once you graduate.

Sorry, I thought this thread title was a joke.

You should go wherever fits best. You can get a great education anywhere.

@Moose1209: I agree 100%.

If an employer got two identical resumes where the only difference was that one candidate went to Harvard and one got an online degree who do you think would go into the “call for an interview” pile?

Harvard is one of the best schools in the country. A degree from Harvard can be worth its weight in gold.

Would your medical condition prevent you from completely dedicating yourself to your studies? If so, holding off on Harvard may be a good idea so you don’t burn yourself out and overdo it.

Your education is so much more important than having expensive things at your wedding, so don’t let that deter you from going to Harvard. You can have a really beautiful wedding for not a lot of money if you put your mind to it! You need to take into consideration everything on your plate and make a decision that’s best for you and your FH.

Good luck, and congratulations on getting in to such a wonderful school. You must be one smart Bee! ๐Ÿ˜‰

I agree that if Harvard was an option for me… ever… I would do whatever I had to to attend but that’s just me.

I also agree that you should let the school know ASAP that you aren’t interested because there are people checking their mail daily for that acceptance letter that you just received!
