Just wanted to introduce myself, I’ve been stalking for a while and decided to just give up and join Weddingbee. The Boyfriend or Best Friend and I have had a whirlwind romance and are looking to get engaged soon. We’re a long distance couple: he’s in Vermont and I live in Alberta (Canada) and we’re in the process of making our realtionship legit. Add this to the fact that I’m Indian and was born and raised in the Middle East while he’s American of the “mutt variety” as he puts it and I know I’ll be using this site as a sounding board. Looking forward to talking to everyone!

Welcome to the hive, MAlove! I second Recessionista’s recommendation of http://www.visajourney.com, it’s proven to be endlessly helpful for Mr. Doxie and me! He’s Canadian, too, and finally got his visa a few weeks ago.
Looking forward to hearing more from you!

@crebre80: I doubt it…the one thing about long distance relationships is the short window of time there is to propose and I’m not going to Vermont anytime soon..
@hhcheung2000: How do you plan a wedding while going through immigration?
We know the wedding will be in his homestate MAssachusetts. So I’ll be long distance planning too…so thankful for the internet and advice from the bees yay!

Thanks Recessionista and Daschund!! I have checked that website out and can’t wait to have those forms filled out and sent in.We’re hoping to get married legally first and to apply as a spouse to I can work as soon as I get there (the alternative would be to drive him batty so it’s worth the extra wait according to him).
It’s so unnerving thinking about being dependent on someone else for awhile and moving to another country. Funny thing is I’ll be closer to home even though I’ll be in the States.

@MAlove – I have been a citizen of the US for more than 19 years so it wasn’t a problem getting married.
