I don’t have a ring to show (yet) but I’m also getting a round stone and I’m going with 6 prongs for a couple of reasons. The main reason that’s already been mentioned by several ladies is that 4 prongs can make it look square and I know that would drive me nuts. I think 6 prongs compliment the round shape better 🙂 and the other reason is security – if one of the prongs catches on something or bends/breaks, my stone will still be secured by 5 prongs. It’ll be loose but it won’t fall out. If you only have 4 prongs, your stone is gone if one of them bends or breaks.

chocolatesoap: What size is your finger? Your stone it the perfect size for your hand imo! and does look way bigger than 1.19 as others said. Just wondering because I’m a 4.25 and trying to decide between 1 and 1.5 carat range.

lindsaysian3: Your shank is perfectly thin! Do you know how many milimeters the band is?

lifeisabeeach: I love the pronounced deliberate style of your prongs! The one we selected has prominent prongs also… 6 prongs… only difference is mine are offset… lovely ring! I always though I’d prefer small prongs… but when I went ring shopping, the only ones that looked like they were actually supposed to be part of the ring were the pronounced ones. I love looking at all the rings on here!

bayly: aw thanks so much!! The ring is a size 5.75, a 5.5 would have been just fine but I wanted it just a little more loose. 🙂

.81 on size 6.5 finger.

Originally I wanted a 4 prong, but ended up with 6 which I love for so many reasons that a few others have mentioned (shape, security) but mainly because of the “swoopies” they make underneath the diamond – I always say it looks like a little tiara lol
