Hi Bees – I’ve had many dreams of the shoes I’d wear on my wedding day. I never took into account the height of the man of my dreams. God played a funny little joke on me by not only making me wait for said prince to arrive but he also sent me a man who is not much taller than I.
Now that my knees can’t really handle stilletos anymore and prince charming isn’t 6’4, I’ve decided on the most practical pair I could stomach.
- fit my budget
- falls “away” and doesn’t stand out away from my dress
- has a padded insert on the ball of the foot
- rubber soled so I don’t fall in the cathedral
- has a backstrap – and yes, I’ve practiced dancing in them already – they passed the Michael Jackson test as well as Pitbull and Black Eyed Peas
While they aren’t vintage French like I’d imagined in my younger days, they are just what I need. If I can’t dance like Ginger Rodgers, I’d at least like my feet to look like they can! 🙂
This is one of 2 items purchased for the wedding that was manufactured in China. I’ve tried as much as I could to be a consciousness buyer but I did fail on two ends – the dress and the shoes.
Here are my lovelies:

Those are so cute!
Um…. I don’t mean to be a Debbie downer though, but since you said the soles were rubber, what is the floor at the cathedral/venue made of? I have to say I have a pair of shoes with soles like that and anytime I walk on anything but carpet/concrete they squeak… (but that could just be my shoes) Have you tried them out on something besides carpet?

@IAmLemondrop: Yes – i’ve tried hardwood floors and tile. I have a feeling the music is going to make the crowd go deaf (those that aren’t already lol) so I’m alright if they squeak. I have a pair of cork wedges that make the most ridiculous sounds so thanks for pointing out a possible mishap 🙂

@sfchick: Cool. I always worry about that when I buy shoes. 🙂 I have this one pair of pumps I bought that make me sound like a toddler in those squeaky shoes parent’s put their kids in so they can hear them running away. 😀
