my girls are all getting LBDs from wherever they like, as long as I’m able to see it first and make sure it’s wedding appropriate, they’re free to wear it!

I really am happy that my girls not only will have something they’ll like to wear again, but that they probably will think of me, too 🙂 and fondly, hopefully!

I didn’t even see the LBD of two of my bridesmaids before the wedding!

I plan on choosing the color and just letting them choose on their own, with an option to get all same dresses or go do individual thing.

I think alot of poeple are going this route now.  I picked one color and one company and told them to pick their dresses. And we did have a decent size wedding (160 guests).

I’m doing this too and with David’s Bridal.  I just said cocktail length in watermelon.  That way everyone can just wear what they want and feel comfortable.  My BMs are a wide range of heights and sizes!

My wedding’s very casual, so I said get any dress you want as long as it has pink flowers on it. they ended up being very colorful, and super cute!

My BMs are all getting a knee/tea lenght dress in the same alfred angelo color.  There is a wide selection of dresses and prices so no one could complain and they were all able to find stores that sell Alfred Angelo dresses.

I don’t think this makes my wedding any less formal!!

We’re not having a super formal wedding either. All my girls are wearing the same dress, but that was their choice. They got their dresses from nordstrom.com, and one was even able to take her dress to her local Nordstrom to have it altered!

I think this definitely works.  I just asked my gals to get a black dress from JCrew of their own choosing.  It was so much easier than trying to find a dress that they all liked.  Plus, I liked that they all looked a little different (I’m not too into matchy-matchy), but the color provided a cohesive look.  The best part–they were all happy to get dresses that they would absolutely wear again.

I gave all my BMs the choice of picking out their dresses, my only specs – knee / tea length, black, and no excessive cleavage. They all himmed and hawwed over it and finally I was like SCREW IT! And I picked out a dress at a (non bridal) boutique in the area, it was $70 and they all went and got it. So now they’re all wearing the same dress, it was cheap, they will match, I didn’t have to stress over it anymore it’s done and good. 🙂

If they can’t do it, start looking at Sears, Macy’s, JC Penney, etc. They have nice dresses that you can even order online, with the $$$ they save, they can have them altered if they’re too big or something.
