My sister was married about 8 or 9 years ago and kept her veil. She mailed it to me over the weekend and told me to keep it if I liked it and give it away if I didn’t… well I LOVE it! It’s about 2.5 feet long and has tiny pearls and crystal beads at the edges. It’s exactly what I was looking for and I’m super excited it’s free because I went over budge on my dress!
Now here’s my question – it’s a little dingy looking and I’m not sure how to clean this bad boy! The pearls and beads are glued on. Can I soak it in the sink with some mild detergent, or bleach, or? Not sure on this one, I don’t do the laundry in my house and I’m not letting the boy touch it!
Help me out Bees!
Here’s a pic of my lovely “Old” veil!

Don’t know how you’d clean it but wanted to say it’s very pretty 🙂

It’s SO perfect and I’m super excited about it. My sister is also very happy that I’ll be wearing something of hers!

Ask her what the material is -silk tulle, bridal illusion, english net, polyester etc and then let good ol google tell you how to wash it.

It’s pretty! It doesn’t look dingy or anything in the picture but maybe the spots didn’t show up.
Have you considered calling a dry cleaners to see what they’d charge to clean it?

@MASPA: I’ll have to call her and ask. It doesn’t look especially fancy to me, I just assumed it was tulle.
@Stace126: I don’t see any spots on it… just looks not really bright white to me and she did say it was white and not ivory or another color. The picture was taken in my dark bedroom so it doesn’t really help.
