OMG. i’m in love. they sell sheet music…i wonder if i could find a local string quartet to actually play this stuff for the ceremony. that would make it that much better.
is anyone having live music for their ceremony? is/are your musician/s learning a new piece just for your ceremony?
i suppose, on the other hand, if we just went the CD/MP3 route, we could mix styles. but string quartets are just soooooo lovely and elegant, and i really do prefer authentic sound to recorded when possible.
either way, next time i’m at the used record store i’m going to look for some of their stuff just for general listening purposes.

LOVE them. I hired a string quartet that will be playing all their stuff for my ceremony. What’s great about them is you can get the effect of strings but use a CD. I chose to still have the strings there, though, because I really like live music.

Aren’t they fantastic?! I love them.
We used “All I Want Is You”, their cover of the U2 song, for our aisle song. It was perfect!

We had a string quartet for our ceremony, and I can’t even tell you how many people complimented us on it and told us how classy and unique it made our ceremony. It was one of the best choices we made in all of wedding planning!!!

@kala_way: i totally want “just like heaven” (the cure) for our processional…

Were having our officiant play the violin as we walk down the aisle… she is learning 4 new songs for us. I love the Vitamin String Quartet but I don’t think it would translate good to just a violin otherwise I had a few songs in mind of theirs.

LOVE Vitamin String Quartet! Thinking of walking down the aisle to their version of “In My Place” by Coldplay

We’re processing and recessing to VSQ – Tribute to Michael Buble and Sugar We’re Going Down (respectively). For the cost of $1.88 on Itunes we got the ceremony music down!

We have picked out a dozen to play during dinner 🙂 It will be a fun conversation starter for people to figure out what song is being played.

We didn’t have a string quartet, but we did use VSQ. I actually planned the ceremony music as a surprise for my husband. We played a variety of VSQ prior to the ceremony, and the bridal party walked down to “Bodies” by Drowing Pool. My husband LOVED it. I walked down to “Everlong” by Foo Fighters, and we exited to “Welcome to the Jungle.” Our reception entrance was the orignal “Welcome to the Jungle.” It was perfect.

We’re having a flute/string quartet. I guess we really haven’t decided yet on the music. So glad that you’ve found this! That’s really fantastic!

We love VSQ too! Hired a string quartet that plays rock/pop music and they are composing 2 songs for our ceremony that weren’t on their list (Pearl Jam and Eric Clapton. I can’t wait!!

I had never heard of VSQ until I saw this post. I love it! I think I may have just found what I can use my itunes gift card for. I wish we could have recorded music at our ceremony, this would be perfect. I’m in the process of researching string quartets in the Twin Cities (I see that is where you are from as well). I love the sounds of strings so much better than just piano!
