shouldn’t you send your invites out sooner than 25 days before your wedding?
I have a family friend who is getting married. She’s getting married in about 25 days. She still hasn’t sent out invitations. In fact, she still doesn’t have ADDRESSES for her invitations. My mind is kind of blown, to be honest. She invited everyone on FB (and I mean everyone. All of her FB friends. All 600 of them.) but to me that’s not the same thing. I’m going to assume she’s counting that as her STD but I’m not sure why because I know most of her family isn’t on facebook. I don’t know. It just seems strange to me.

@MissOtter31: Maybe she did send them out to people that are actually invited to the wedding? I have seen people send out save the dates and then discovered that they couldn’t actually have everyone there so they had to cut down on the guestlist. Which I find to be a little rude, you probably should have a somewhat solid idea on how many people you can have. It sounds like she was overzealous when inviting everyone on Facebook. If you didnt get an actual invitation or a call to see if your coming or not, you probably aren’t invited. Facebook gets people into trouble!

I received an invite to my cousins wedding 7 days before. I’m not sure why they were so slow to send them out but yeah, if you want a better turnout, send them earlier.

Is she actually planning on sending paper invitations at all?

@MissOtter31: I guess it depends on the particulars of the wedding and how quickly they planned it. My cousin had one month to plan her wedding and so we got the invite only a couple weeks before the date. Personally I didn’t think anything of it.

Ya that is really uncommon. Usually 2 months before ish they are sent. Maybe she didnt get as many yes rsvps as she thought she would and invited more people? That happens especially if you put money on a venue you dont want it to be empty!!

@linguo42: Yeah she’s been facebooking about how she’s getting the invitations ready.
@Mrs. Meowerson: I’m not expecting to be invited for real at all. She and I aren’t that close and we live 12 hours away from each other. BUT someone asked her if she sent out any invites yet and she commented that she hadn’t. So I’m thinking even a-listers haven’t been invited yet.

Some people like to “fly by the seat of their pants” while others (like me) are ooober advance planners.
My Fiance and I just recieved an email invite to a family wedding in two weeks that is out of state. We will be RSVP-ing no.

She might not be planning on sending out paper invites.
I just saw a “group” on facebook a week ago and that’s how the bride and groom were inviting people. I also know a girl I went to highschool with who only sent out paper invites to out of town family members and invited everyone else by word of mouth.
